Greenland cannot be expressed in words. Iceland is much more earthly but our itinerary makes sure you get to experience a more remote Iceland of the West and the North. It is true that we could have done this without Greenland, but then going so close to feeling heaven and not actually feeling it is not what we want to be a part of.

flight to Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland. On our arrival in Iceland, we will be met with our driver and will proceed to hotel stay. Our night stay will be in Borgarnes, a charming town located on a peninsula at the shore of Borgarfjord with a population of just 1,700 people.

Our day starts early as we drive on the scenic coast of West Iceland on Road 54. Our first stop this morning is going to be the town Arnarstapi where you will get a firsthand experience of watching the Lava Formations and in them the Arctic Tern colony of birds. The highlight of the day comes up during lunch when we visit the Bay on which Stykkiholmur is located. The view of the innumerable islands from the bay is very scenic and the old houses in the town charming. After some free time for lunch, we will proceed to our night stay to Laugerbakki a small village, as we move from west Iceland to North Iceland.

The first stop on our scenic drive this morning is the amazing Vatnsnes Peninsula. Later observe the great views over to Strandir across the sea with a black lava beach. The troll like Hvitserkur rock formation and the fortress of Borgarvirki are also sights to wonder at. Blonduoss literally means the mouth of the river Blanda. It is an ideal place to enjoy a quiet lunch after which we will drive ip north to the peninsula of Siglufjordur. This drive gets as remote as it can in Iceland and on a clear day, you could find icebergs, which have floated all the way from East Greenland. We will arrive in Akureyri for dinner. Akureyri is the second biggest city in Iceland and the capital of the North of Iceland. Our hotel here has facilities which are in sharing.

Today is the day of waterfalls, lakes and nature baths. The town of Akureyri is a very charming and on a fjord. We will start our morning leisurely with a drive on the highway 1 which is also called the ring road. Our first stop is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland, Godafoss. Later we will drive on a gravel road to reach the beautiful Lake Myvatn, which is a volcanic lake created by a large basaltic lava eruption 2300 years ago. The Detifoss waterfall is reputed to be the most powerful waterfall in Europe and you will see why. Lunch can be enjoyed at the thermal baths of Lake Myvatn Geothermal Area. The water is at a temperature of + 40 - 45 deg centigrade and we have included the entrance at the baths. You will have to carry the costume and towels. After a relaxing dip in the thermal waters we will return back to Akureyri to spend some time at city centre.

This morning we will board our flight to Reykjavik and on arrival enjoy a Golden Circle Tour. One of the most popular tours in Iceland has a mix of all its varied attractions. We will start with the Geyser Geothermal Area where the Strokkur geyser shoots a column of water upto 100 ft high every 5 - 10 minutes. The visit continues with the Gullfoss (Golden) Waterfall, which tumbles into a crevice 105 ft deep. We will be also visiting the Kerio Crater with its unique colored Crater Lake. After lunch, we will continue our drive back to Reykjavik. Tonight we will pack our small bags for two following nights in Greenland.

We will board the Air Iceland flight from the Reykjavik airport today to fly to the land of the mid night sun on the west coast of Greenland. Illulisat at a latitude of 69.2 deg North is north of the Arctic circle and the sun today wont set. On arrival, we will be taken to our accommodation, which neighbours the Ilulissat ice fjord. The name of the town means, A town with a 1000 floating icebergs. The people who live here are called Inuits and bear resemblance to their cousins in North Canada and Alaska. Later we proceed for city walk and in evening be welcomed in a Greenlandic home. A local invites for coffee, tea, cake and a chat about life in a modern Greenlandic town. You are also welcomed to join the feeding of a dog-team.

After breakfast, we will visit the Unesco Icefjord and walk on the wooden pathway laid out at the preserved Glacier sight to get a complete feel of a massive Glacier. We will return to Ilulissat in the evening and enjoy the last night of the mid night sun boat tour amongst the floating icebergs for a magical experience of this land of Greenland. The Idea of coming to Greenland is to experience the Antarctica of the North with just one difference. Greenland has pockets of communities with culture

We will fly back to Reykjavik by around mid – day. You would need to carry some food stuff on the flight back which takes around 3 – 4 hours as it stops for refueling in between. On our arrival in the city center Airport, we will enjoy a 3-hour city tour and proceed to check in our hotel.

Generally the number of guest traveling varies depending on the destination. The average group size for World Tour is between 40 to 47 and Indian tour is between 28 to 56. However, if a particular tour gets an overwhelming response or if it is a special tour like My Fair Lady or Second Innings tour then the group size may go beyond the aforesaid group size.

Generally, we operate all the tours that we launch, however in some cases the total number of bookings fall below our prescribed minimum operating capacity, in such cases we give you options and then accommodate or merge your tour with other available tours. We do provide the leave travel certificate, subject to your intimation to us about your requirement at the time of booking the tour itself.
Ideally only 1 Tour Leader is assigned to manage the group & since he has to follow the itinerary, the group may have to move ahead to the next destination while you may have to stay back at your current location - additional services will be on chargeable basis! An e-ticket is a paperless electronic document with a unique confirmation number that neatly replaces the hassles of a paper ticket. You may request for a copy to be sent to your e-mail id, in-case of International tours - if & when you require e-tickets for buying Forex, for VISA formalities. This is because we incur expenses of the tour in two currencies. Unless otherwise specified by the Tour Leader for World Tour, we normally follow 6-7-8 schedule i.e wake up at 6 am, breakfast at 7 am and departure at 8 am and for Indian tour its 7-8-9 schedule i.e. wake up at 7 am, breakfast at 8 am and departure at 9 am. However, the schedule may change as per the situation.
Yes, you do get telephonic wakeup call through the hotel automated system, however it is advisable to have your mobile alarms set to be on the safer side.
Punctuality is of utmost importance when traveling in group. We do not want you to miss any part of the tour so please be on time and always follow the Tour Leader's instructions. If you fall sick on tour, kindly inform the Tour Leader immediately. We highly recommend you to carry sufficient medicines along with you on tour. At present for most of the destinations, it is 20 to 25 kg for cargo and 6 to 7 kg for handbag per ticket but it does vary with the airline. For guest traveling to US at present baggage is controlled by Piece Concept. Under the Piece Concept, passengers are permitted per ticket to check two bags with a per-bag weight of up to 23 kg for Economy Class. However for internal flights there is no free baggage allowed, your 1 check in baggage cost is paid by Travel of Indiabut the second check-in baggage if any has to be paid by guest. Also due to security reasons during internal flight the bags cannot be locked, same will be timely instructed by the Tour Leader on tour. Hand baggage of 7 kg is allowed for both international and internal flights.
Indian tour price does not include air or railway tickets. In-case, you wish to travel by rail the tickets have to be booked by yourself. We book for your air travel only. However, we also have Air to Air tours where the tour price is inclusive of to and fro air ticket cost.
If you book your own railway / air tickets then the ticket details must be shared with the travel Consultant.
Travel of India will assist you with one way tickets for regular tours but for Air to Air packages guest has to take to and fro ticket. They cannot opt for only one way ticket as the to & fro ticket fare is included in the tour price.
At present, depending upon the airline, most of the airlines are allowing 15 Kgs of Cargo bags per ticket and 05 Kgs of Handbag per ticket. In addition to hand baggage, one personal item like Laptop or ladies purse is allowed. However, due to security reasons for Jammu and Srinagar flights the hand baggage also goes along with the check in baggage and only laptop or digital camera is permitted inside the aircraft.

Seat numbers in the coach are allotted on the booking priority, first come first serve basis. Seat numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4 in each coach are reserved for the Tour Leader / Guide and are Premium seats. Further seat allocation is done as per the booking priority and the same is informed by the Tour Leaders on tour.
You need to book as early as possible to get the first seats in the coach. However, for selected World Tours, seat number 3 , 4 are reserved as premium seats which can be booked subject to availability and at an additional cost. Premium seats cannot be availed if the tour is full.
The road journey is completely dependent on the tour itinerary and number of places covered. The driving distance varies for each tour. You get sufficient halts during the journey.
As per the tour itinerary requirement, there is a preset menu. We serve vegetarian food along with 1 non vegetarian dish. Breakfast is continental and meals are Indian with an occasional addition of Fast/Local food.
Yes, special meal like Jain meal (No onion garlic), Fasting meal- as per availability and Baby meal can be arranged subject to prior intimation. In case of baby meal we provide tin milk, plain dal and rice only, during meals as per the itinerary. For in between requirements of baby we recommend you to carry sufficient baby food along with you.
For World Tours, we generally have meals at Indian restaurants as it gives you an opportunity to enjoy a different ambiance and is comfortable. At times, we do give packed food too depending upon the itinerary.

If you do not have a passport you can apply for the same online on www.passportindia.gov.in if you are an Indian National, however Travel of India does not assist for the same.
It is important that the tour booking should be done as per your name on the passport as all further travel arrangements are booked accordingly and passport is the only valid document abroad for verification.
VISA is the short form for Visitors Intending to Stay Abroad. It is a permission granted by the high commission or consulate of the country you wish to visit. For certain countries, you have to go for personal interview too. Travel of India will assist you in filing the VISA application. The VISA facilitation fees are included in the tour price.
Granting or Non-Granting of a VISA solely depends on the respective Consulate/ Embassy. We just assist you in filing the application for the VISA. We neither assure nor guarantee the VISA to anyone since the same is beyond our control.
Yes, you can get a refund after deducting the VISA application fees and cancellation charges, if any.
It is advisable to acquire adequate Overseas Travel Insurance cover for protection from any possible risks such as damage, loss, accident or injury to life etc on tour. For Europe and Dubai tours, the insurance is included in the tour price for those aged up to 59 years for the duration of the tour. Guest above 59 years of age will have to pay the difference on the insurance premium as applicable.
The Visa or Insurance included in the tour price is only for the tour duration. For your extended holiday we will process your visa or insurance accordingly, you just need to pay the difference.
Yes, the tour leader will assist you throughout the tour and this is one of the USP's of Travel of India However, they are not responsible for baggage or any kind of personal belongings.
The Tour Leader will preferably communicate or give instructions on tour in Hindi and English.
For World Tours, we have 1 Tour Leader for the entire group where as for Indian Tours, 1 Tour Leader with 1 or 2 Tour Assistant depending upon group size.
We recommend you to book your tour at least 9 months prior to the scheduled departure date as most of our tours fill up 6 months in advance. For Indian tours, railway booking opens 120 days prior to the departure date. However, if you book early you can avail of the advance booking discounts, priority in the coach etc.
To book a World Tour, you need passport with 6 months validity subsequent to the scheduled departure date of the tour and with sufficient number of blank pages for visa purposes. You also need to pay a registration amount depending on the tour price. Whereas for Indian Tours identification proof and registration amount is required for detailed information on the booking procedure.
If you pay the tour price at one go 60 days prior departure then you are benefited as you get full payment discount. It is not mandatory though; you can pay the registration amount to book and pay the balance payment later.

USD / EURO are universally accepted currencies and easily exchangeable in any part of the world. No need to carry multiple currencies. You can carry the local currency of the visiting country worth $50 for miscellaneous expenses and if in case of emergency.
As per RBI circular, the Basic Travel Quota per financial year is US $10000 per person for private visit and US $25000 for business visit.
You can carry cash but we advise you to carry American Express Travelers Cheques as it is accepted around the world. Ideally, it takes 4 - 5 working days to process refunds, once the guest agrees on refund amount. However, to derive the best amount of refund, it takes additional operational time to deal with airlines, hoteliers etc.
Ideally, the refund amount is credited using the same mode of payment that you had used to book the tour, the only exception in this case is if you had used Cash/Demand Draft in such case, the mode of payment for refund will be 'Account Payee' cheque only. In case of Credit Card, the transaction would be reversed accordingly, considering the bank charges/Service charges on Credit Card payments which is non-refundable.
